Abstract

A computer assisted teaching system, SOLAR-CATS, which uses P2P technology, is shown. In a computer laboratory, the teacher can show operation of application programs of the SOLAR-CATS at his/her terminal to students at their terminals in real-time by using the SOLAR-CATS. Students can do a co-operative work by using the SOLAR-CATS. Teacher's and students' operations can be recorded and the operations can be re-played. Terminals at remote classrooms, which are separated by firewalls, can be combined by the SOLAR-CATS. SOLAR-CATS is equipped with application programs such like a draw, a text editor, a simple programming environment of a simple programming language, an Web browser, a writer's assistant for English writing.
