Bilayered Fe77.8Si8.8B13.2C0.2/Fe80Si7B13 amorphous ribbon prepared by a rapid-quenching method was investigated to determine the magnetic properties influenced by heat-treatment. Residual internal strain existed in each layer of the as-quenched ribbon. After heat-treatment, structural relaxation contributed not only to reduction of the strain but also to introduction of the strain at the interface of two layers. Out-of-plane magnetization was analyzed using the Mössbauer effect. Soft magnetic properties of bilayered material proved to be determined by these two kinds of strain, in terms of the magnetization configuration.
