Abstract

皆伐入工林で,施肥を導入した集約的保育作業の行われている幼齢林 (3年生スギ・ヒノキ)と,これに隣接する壮齢林 (72年生スギ・ノキ)とに量水堰を設け,幼齢林での養分の動態を,施肥.下刈り作業と結びつけて調査した。この幼齢林での今後の長期にわたる変化を確認するためのチェック林分として隣接の壮齢林が設けられた。 1978年8月から1979年7月まで1年間の結果は次のとおりである。(1) 幼齢林の流出水量は壮齢林より多く,その差は約300mmであった。(2) 養分の収支でも幼齢林の流失は壮齢林より多く,No<sub>3</sub>-Nで6倍であった。しかしNH<sub>4</sub>-N, K, Ca, Mgでは2~3倍の流失で,流出水量の増加割合とほぼ見合っていた。(3) 幼齢林では雑草木に保持されている養分量が流失養分量より多く,下刈りという取扱いが養分循環の面で一つの利点になるかもしれない。(4) 各養分の収支の状況置換性のCaやMgなどについても検討を加えた。

The effects of intensive tending works on stream discharge, nutrients, and the basic cations in the soil were investigated in both a young stand (sapling stage), and an established stand. Stream gauging weirs were installed in two small catchment basins on the Oya Experiment Forest of the University Forest, Gunma. One catchment basin contained a 3-year-old stand of planted sugi (<i>Cryptomeria japonica</i>) and hinoki (<i>Chamaecyparis obtusa</i>) (the young stand), and the other contained a 72-year-old sugi and hinoki (the established stand). This paper summarizes the results for only one year which were: (1) Stream discharge of the young stand was 300mm more than that of the established stand. (2) The nutrient budgets for the young stand was six times as much for NO<sub>3</sub>-N and two to three times as much for NH<sub>4</sub>-N, K, Ca, and Mg as that of the established stand. The annual nutrient discharge of Mg, Ca, and NO<sub>3</sub>-N of the young stand and of Mg of the established stand exceeded the annual input from the precipitation. (3) The nutrient amount supplied by weeding and brush-cutting were much more than nutrient discharge in the young stand. Thus the effects of weeding and brush-cutting on the circulating nutrients are very noticeable.
