Abstract

記録符号と信号処理は,ストレージシステムのための根幹的なソフトウェア技術の一つであり,21世紀,特に近未来,において20Gb/inch2達成に欠かせない技術である.本稿では,これら符号と信号処理におけるブレークスルー技術について述べる.まず,符号と信号処理の歴史的な流れを辿ることで,従来技術が直面する限界を明らかにする.ついで,記録符号のブレークスルー手法として注目を集めている多値符号,トレリス符号,ならびに多次元符号のメリット,デメリットを論ずる.最後に,再生側信号処理ではPRMLが既にポピュラーとなっているが,とくにMLに対するブレークスルー技術として,従来検出法に比べて高速でメモリ容量も大幅に削減できる簡易なマージ探索法を紹介する.This paper presents break-through technologies on recording code and signal processing which are regarded as a fundamental software technology for storage system, on which we have aimed the achievement of 20Gb/inch^2 at the near future of 21st Century. Firstly, we find limitations with conventional technologies through investigating the histrical trends of them. We also discuss several new recording codes such as multi-level code, trellis code and multi-dimensional code which have drawn the attention of related researchers as the break-through methods of recording code. Finally, a simple algorithm for Viterbi decoding method is presented as a break-through technologies of famous PRML technology.
