Abstract

床用裏装材としての新しいレジンを試作し, その評価を行った.材料としては, フッ化ビニリデン/ヘキサフルオロプロピレン共重合体とアクリル系モノマーを組合わせて用い, 重合開始剤には過酸化ベンゾイル(BPO)/アミンを使用した.まず種々のモノマーの示差走査熱量計(DSC)による重合挙動の解析から, メチルメタクリレート(MMA)とヘキサンジオールジメタクリレート(HDDMA)が, 裏装材のモノマーとして適当と考えられた.そこでこのモノマーを利用した試作材料と2種類の市販裏装材について, それらの重合挙動, 圧流度, 吸水率, 溶解率, 水の接触角, 硬さ, MMA溶出率を測定し比較したところ次のような結果が得られた.(1)試作材料の発熱はかなり低かった.(2)硬化した試作材料の吸水率, 溶解率は市販裏装材よりも低かった.(3)硬化物中のMMAの溶出率は非常に低く, 生体に対する安全性が示唆された.(4)試作材料の水に対する接触角はやや大きく, 硬度は小さかった.これらの結果から, 新しい試作材料は床用裏装材として適した性質をもっているように考えられ, 臨床応用が期待される.

New experimental resins for relining denture base were prepared and evaluated.The materials studied were composed of vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, acrylic monomers and benzoyl peroxide(BPO)/amine initiator.In the first step of the investigation, methyl methacrylate(MMA)and hexanediol dimethacrylate(HDDMA)were selected, out of several monomers, as acrylic monomers suitable as a lining material on the basis of polymerization characteristics measured by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The experimental and two commercial lining materials were compared for their curing characteristics, consistency, water sorption, solubility, water contact angle, hardness, and amount of leachable MMA monomer.The exotherm of the experimental materials was relatively low.Water sorption and solubility of the cured experimental materials were lower than those of the commercial liners.The amount of leachable MMA monomers in the cured materials was very low, implying their low toxic nature.The experimental materials showed a higher water contact angle and lower hardness.Overall, the new experimental materials seem to have properties suitable for use as a denture liner, and therefore they should be worth applying to practical use.
