Abstract

光磁気ディスクの高密度化を促進させるために,8B6T符号と名付けた3値記録符号を開発し,いずれのPRML信号処理と組合せれば従来方式よりもビット誤り率の改善をはかることができるのかを検討している.検討対象としている8B6T符号のパラメータは d = 1, k = 4, c = 2 の各制約を有している.ビット誤り率特性を従来の代表的な2値符号である8B9B符号と8B10B符号,ならびにやはり代表的な3値符号で8B6T符号と同じ符号化効率を持つ4B3T符号と比較検討行なった,その結果, BER = 10^<-4>において8B6T符号に PR(1,2,1)方式を組み合わせることで従来のいずれの記録符号と PRML との組合せよりも所要 CN 比を改善できることができた.

In order to accelerate the achievement of high density recording on magneto-optical disk systems, We have developed a new ternary-level recording code called the 8B6T code which is characterises by the constraints d=1, k=4 and c=2. We have also investigated the BER performance of different combinations between recording codes and PRML methods. The performance of the 8B6T code's required CN ratio has been compared with that of the 8B6T, 8B10B and 4B3T codes, respectively. The results show that, the combination between 8B6T code and PR(1, 2, 1) method has the best performance among several combinations.
