Abstract

従来,記録符号の持つその主たる機能は,記録信号系列の特性と記録再生チャネルの特性とを整合させることと考えられてきた.本稿では,ビタビ検出時に,PR方式の相関だけでなく記録符号の相関も活用することを試みている.そのような考えは TCPR (Trellis Coded Partial Response)方式そのものである.本文ではまず,符号化効率 η=1/2 および 3/4 のトレリス符号を構成する.続いて,それらを用いたTCPR方式によって,符号化を行わない η=1 の PR(1,1)ML方式に比べ,ビット誤り率特性が改善されることをシミュレーションによって示す.

Conventionally, the main function of recording codes has been thought to be matching the property of a signal sequence to that of the recording channel. In this paper, we try to use effectively not only the correlation property of PR systems but also that of recording codes. This idea is truly consistent with the TCPR (Trellis Coded Partial Response) method. Firstly, trellis codes which have code efficiency η = 1/2 and 3/4, respectively, have been constructed. Then, a bit error rate (BER) comparison between these coded PR(1,1)ML methods and the non-coded PR(1,1)ML method having η = 1 is given. The results show that the trellis coded method does improve the BER.
