Abstract

A high intensity optically-pumped far infrared laser has been developed in order to be used for a production of gamma-ray by inverse Compton scattering. Performance of a developed optically-pumped FIR laser are presented. A correction coefficient of the laser power meter is obtained by measurement of reflectivity of the detection surface of the power meter. The output power 1.61 W has been obtained for the 9P (36) C0_2 laser pumped 118.8μm CH_3OH laser. A linear polarization of the FIR laser beam is 93%. A long term stability of the FIR laser power is ±1.0% at the power of 80% of the maximum.
