Abstract
System designers of operating rooms for industrial plants must take care of three parts; manipulation of HW/SW, arrangement of HW/SW, and display of SW. VIGOR is an integrated virtual environment system that cover these essential parts. The integration is realized by virtual space, an avator, and a dynamic plant simulation of VIGOR. A high-speed and high-quality rendering of virtual space makes users walkthrough and arrange HW/SW components directly. Real time image of an avator's working helps real human operators understand arrangement alternatives easily. Behavioral and structural representations for components realize design for manipulation of HW/SW components. Virtual screens in virtual space can display same contents as real screens, linking with a dynamic plant simulation. VIG0R augments interactiveness between human operators, clients, and system.
