Abstract
We have identified nonlinear systems by using the adaptive Volterra filter (AVF) and used the E-NLMS algorithm proposed by us for the adaptive algorithm. However, the convergence property of the adaptive Volterra filter using E-NLMS has been never analyzed. Therefore, we propose the method of formulating the convergence property in this paper. We use the first order IIR filter expression, which is effective to analize various properties of the NLMS algorithm for linear adaptive system, to formulate the convergence property of the E-NLMS algorithm, and moreover, use the characteristic of the second order Volterra filter which is divided into the diagonal elements (D system) and the other (ED system). We show the theoretical formula derived in this paper to be effective by computer simulations.
