Abstract
We propose herewith a time-dependent singular value decomposition method to analyze the fractal properties as seen in EEG data. In practice we have evaluated an effective degree of freedom, α_e, shich is considered to reflect the inherent freedom of the macroscopic EEG signal, and analysed the fractal dimension of the time-dependent α_e in a time series. Consequentary we have explored the fractal properties of α_e fluctuations, which have been found tp critically depend on external photic stimuli which were applied continuously or intermittently under the different conditions. From the present analyses, we have elucidated that there exists certain correlation between the data in the rest state and the stimulated one.
