The presence of light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b binding proteins and the small and large subunits of ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase was revealed in dark-grown pine seedlings. The light-independent accumulation of the proteins was observed in photosynthetic and/or green tissue, such as cotyledons and hypocotyls, but not in non-photosynthetic roots.
