Abstract
The bent wood technique was introduced in Windsor chair in and after the l8th century. In America bent wood chair had been patented already in the early 19th century so it is not true to say that bent wood chairs were produced technique using steam, but it covered only legs. Although Thonet Inc. developed a variety of bent wood chairs during the 1850s, the bent wood technique itself remained unfinished. It is assumed that the technique was finished in the 1860s.
