Abstract

In order to understand experimental studies involving X-Ray Laser (XRL) research, the pumping method, diagnostics for XRL, and optics for XRL are introduced via a question and answer format. In this chapter, we also discuss the amplified spontaneous emission mode of XRL, the coherence of XRL, and new challenges for efficient and compact XRL.
