In order to observe the detailed structure of a premixed spray flame, magnified spray images were taken with a digital CCD camera, and light emissions in OH- and CH-bands, and Mie scattering from droplets were detected simultaneously by a light collection system with high spatial resolution, named "Multi-color Integrated Cassegrain Receiving Optics" (MICRO). Particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique was applied to those magnified images to measure instantaneous the two-dimensional velocity field. As a result, it was confirmed that preferential flame propagation was not caused by turbulent motion associated with vortices and eddies in the flowfield. Furthermore, one-dimensional structure of the propagating flame was presented to clarify interrelation between the combustion reaction region and the spray region. It was also confirmed that two peaks in the radical emission signals were underlying the direction of flame propagation. The location of those of the peaks located outside the spray boundary was consistent with the location where burning velocity obtained by PIV reached its maximum value of 4.0m/s.
