Abstract

An examination is made on the proposed saturated permeability test which is possible to install both the constant head method and falling head method, and the system is changed as needed. This apparatus can be used for easily measuring both the pore pressure parameter B-value and the degree of saturation obtained by back pressure method based on the Boyle-Charles' and Henrys' law. A comparison was made between these verification methods to measure for degree of saturation of the change according to the situation, such as suction time, condition of saturation and coefficient of permeability by the proposed test apparatus. From the result, it is concluded that this apparatus can accurately determine the saturated permeability coefficient and is useful for quickly obtaining detailed data.
