Abstract
In this paper, we apply the microscopic road traffic simulator MITRAM to a signal control design. MITRAM has been developing for the analysis of city area traffic congestion as its main purposes, and it can consider several traffic congestion factors, such as road-shoulder parking vehicles, a position of bus stops, the length of a right-turn lane, signalized intersections, and so on. It is difficult to quantitatively evaluate actual road traffic measures including the design of signal control etc., because there is no reproducibility of traffic phenomena. Therefore, the repetition experiments under the same conditions by a road traffic simulator is needed. We build a simulator MITRAM, which fills these demands in this research. Simulation accuracies are verified from various viewpoints. Furthermore, the simulations could obtain the optimal signal control parameter under the concrete traffic environments.
