  • Studies of Room Heating System Using Air Conditioner and Floor Heating : Effect of Heat Storage Tanks Under the Floor

抄録

Combined use of an airconditioner and floor heating with heat storage tanks installed in the space under the floor board of a house is proposed for space heating in order to reduce the size of the floor heating system, which is considered to be a solar hot water system in the future. The surface area of the floor of a room of an experimental house is 10m^2 and 32 water tanks with total mass of 672 kg are installed in the space under the floor board. The floor is heated either by a vinyl tube of 200 m long or an electric carpet which is installed under the water tanks. The room temperature is set at 22℃ by the airconditioner and the temperature of the hot water or carpet is set at 35℃. It was found that the present floor heating system worked well. The temperature drop of the water tanks after 8 hours from the time at which space heating was stopped was only 2℃. Then, the temperature of the surface of the floor was maintained at 15℃ in the morning when the ambient air temperature was near 0℃.
