抄録

In this paper, we investigate riding comfort and stability for vibration input by a bumpy road surface. An analytical model is constructed, providing guidelines for reducing motorcycle vibration and improving instability phenomena in simulations. Front and rear suspension systems and steering damper are applied to parameters for reducing vibration and improving instability behavior. We perform a rider's sensory evaluation test to determine what happens to riding comfort when motorcycle characteristics change. By applying the fuzzy set theory to sensory evaluation test, it is possible to include the ambiguity of rider sensitivity. Results of investigating relationships between motorcycle vibration and riding comfort suggested that the rider's sensitivity was important element for motorcycle characteristic modification.
