<綜説>パーキンソン病における内蔵自律神経系の病理 Pathology of Visceral Autonomic Nervous System in Parkinson'sDisease
Lewy body (LB) formation has been considered to be a marker for neuronal degeneration, because post-mortem studies of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients have shown loss of neurons in the predilection sites for LBs. In patients with PD, LBs are widely distributed in the hypothalamus, and sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Furthermore, LBs are also found in the enteric nervous system of the alimentary tract, the cardiac and pelvic plexuses, and the adrenal medulla. These findings indicate that both central and peripheral autonomic nervous systems are involved in the disease process in PD.
