抄録

This paper aims at examining current nursing activities in nursing units in an acute hospital in order to improve functional layout of general wards to cope with changes of medical/nursing development as well as several other factors, e.g. changes in disease pattern, aging population, patients' demands for healing environment based on the time studies of nurses carried out in an recently opened new acute wards in Tokyo.
