Abstract

This particular paper aims to examine the future of the article relating education in the International Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The Unitied Nation established the Ad Hoc Committee to elaborate the convention on the basis of many decades of international efforts to promote the rights of persons with disabilities. The draft articles including education were issued by the Working Group in January 2004, after that it has been disscussed in the Ad Hoc Committee. The draft article 17 of education consists of five paragraphs based on the idea of recognising the right of all persons with disabilities to education. This paper discusses the concept of inclusive and accessible education, reasonable accommodation and special and alternative forms of learning in the process of drafting and considering the convention.
