Abstract
Ventricular conduction abnormality is frequently observed in patients with severe congestive heart failure (CHF) and it can be a factor of progression of the cardiac dysfunction. Recently cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is introduced and preliminary results have been reported from the US and European countries. In CRT, pacing leads need to be placed in the right ventricle and in the lateral branch of the coronary sinus for the left ventricular pacing. In our institution, CRT was performed in 6 CHF patients, and reasonable acute effects were observed. CRT can be a new therapeutic option for drug refractory CHF which is accompanied with the ventricular conduction abnormality.
