Abstract

Field techniques for measuring hydraulic conductivity of unsaturated soils that have developed in the soil physics are reviewed. Moreover, the two permeability tests for unsaturated ground by using water content profiles are proposed as a new in-situ test. These have the advantage of omitting the measurement of the negative pore pressure (suction) which is practical problem of the instantaneous profile method.
