Abstract

From the beginning of 1980s, educational reforms started from different background and steps in Japan and China, but the common goals and items are seen in education decentralization, attaching more importance on competition theory, teachers quality and child's individuality. By giving an outline of policies and laws about educational reforms and some examples in school management, school choice, the present situation and some important tasks for Japan and China are clearly presented here.
