抄録

This paper explains a method of contextual research which professional designers can easily apply. We designed a set of worksheets based on the method of Contextual Design, in order to provide framework for the research and a common basis of the collaborative analysis. We tested the worksheets in a workshop, in which participants with different backgrounds researched a coffee shop and created design ideas, inspired by what they found in the research. In the workshop, it was suggested that the worksheets facilitate the designers in the process of research and ideation, and that we can obtain the seed of design idea through the contextual research and transfer it onto a different area of application.
