Abstract

High risk of occurrence slope failure pervaded Japan renders relatives attempt and develop technology for prediction of whole geo-hazards with methods of aggregate various information from slope movement, precipitation and acoustic emission. The authors pay attention to underground sound as discharged elastic wave. In this study, we considered elastic wave due to crumbling within aggradations, and amplified sound for inspection in order to analyze aurally or wave propagation. At first, our group focused on phenomenon of landslide in Niigata Pref. in consideration to geo-morphological feature, next step, we acquired underground sound for alteration of sampling wave with a frequency 44.1 cycles under conditioned 10 minutes recording through morning, noon and evening, finally, referred to evaluation of slope failure activity intense. Even though, limited consequence trials indicated that reliability of appropriate monitoring spots based on landslide activity areas with highly amplitude are useful to prognosticate tilting collapse.
