Abstract

The importance of the conference proceedings is discussed from the viewpoint of reference service. To make the most of the conference proceedings held in our library, the CBR/KWIC index was devised. Although, at present, it includes nearly 1000 conference proceedings (C) only, both bibliography (B) and reviews (R), as well as more than 1000 remaining conference proceedings, will be added to this in the future. The objectives of the index are as follows. 1) It directly gives the location of the original document itself. 2) It can be searched from a) the date, b) the place, or c) the name of the conference in question. As a result, it facilitates active utilization of the conference proceedings.
