Abstract
This is a qualitatie analysis to supplement the two previous joint research papers on mother-daughter relations and their career as well as social aspirations. Based on the interviews with 20 mother-daughter pairs, the paper is to investigate in depth private conditions that affect women's careers, differences and similarities and the interpersonal relations between mothers and their daughters. The study confirms that values and involvements in social activities of daughters are largely influenced by their mothers', that their career aspirations are higher but moderate, and that daughters wish to follow their mothers' paths, especially when mother-daughter relations are close and warm, and when mothers, to the eyes of their daughters, are happy and content with their choices of life.
