Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss some characters of voluntary career development within a library community. Dealing with "Daigaku Toshokan Mondai Kenkyukai" that mainly consists of university and college librarians in Japan as one of opportunities of voluntary career development in library community, the brief overview, the policy of operation, the background, and the major activities are surveyed. This article puts some characters of voluntary career development within a library community in perspectives of three points; 1) self-development, 2) maintenance and development of community, 3) continual career development.
