戦後寄生虫卵の保有率は,都市たると農村たると問わず蔓延増加の傾向にあり,その人体に及ぼす影響は図り知れざるものがある。従来寄生虫に対しては予防対策上の理論は相当准歩して来たが,独りその実施面に於て遙に立遅れの感があり,特に我々衛生行政に携わる者にとつて奮起一番何んとか打開しなければならない事を痛感する。著者は当管内に於て早くから当所外来患者に余りにも多く鉤虫の保有者がある事実に注目し,昭和22年来より管内農民を対象に調査を実施して来たが,此処に驚くべき事実を見出した。即ち,当管内を従貫する最大河川たる養老川の下岸流域地帯がその鉤虫保有率70%前後,姻虫保有率10%内外で,鉤虫の感染幼虫の成育に最も適していると言う事である。何故多いのか之の対策を如何にすべきかと言うことはその人体に及ぼす影響から見ても当地方にとつて最大問題たるを失わない。そこで著者は之の問題を千葉県知事並びに千葉県寄生虫対策委員会に提案したところ,県に於ては之の問題に対する措置を県全体の寄生虫予防対策上の一事業として認め,当地方を鉤虫浸淫地区に指定し,このため屎尿処理施設に対する多額の補助金を獲得した。

Since the end of Pacific War, the rate of carriers of parasite worm eggs has increased enormously both in the city and the country, exerting immeasurable influence upon the host. Realizing that the rate of hook worm carriers is very high among the patients who visit this office, the author carried out investigations on parasite worm carriers among farmers since 1946 in an effort to work out measures to cope with the situation. It was found that the carriers of hook worms and ascarides among the farmers under the jurisdiction of this office occupied 70 % and 10 0/0, respectively. The author devised the following two kinds of night soil disposal units: (1) three tub system and (2) the separation system. About 200 of the former and 40 of the latter were installed at farm houses, contributing greatly to the prevention of parasite worm infection.
