男女共同参画社会の担い手を育成すべき保育者が,男女平等やジェンダーに対してどのような考え方をもっているのか,また,性差や男女の特性をいかにとらえ,どのような保育方針をもっているのかを検討した。その結果,保育者は男女平等のための保育の意義を認めながら,男女の差異や女らしさ・男らしさを尊重した上で,男女を同等に扱うのが望ましいと考えていることが明らかになった。また,ジェンダー(・フリー)の知識がある人はそうでない人より,性差の社会構築性をより強く意識していることもわかった。

This study examined how childcare workers expected to bring up the actors in gender-equal society think about the equality between the sexes, gender, and the policies of childcare. Findings showed they acknowledged the importance of egalitarian childcare, respecting gender differences or femininity and masculinity to some extent. It is also found that the childcare workers who knew the word "gender" or "gender free" had more liberated opinions.
