抄録

A 77-year-old woman, who had been diagnosed as maxillary cancer and operated in 2005, and a maxillary complete obturator and a mandibular complete denture had been placed was seen. Her chief complaints were instability of the dentures and masticatory disturbance. Before starting treatments, a mandibular mini-implant-supported overdenture was proposed, and her consent was obtained. A new conventional mandibular complete denture and a maxillary complete obturator were fabricated. Then, the maxillary obturator was realigned using a silicone material to improve retention. Four mini-implants were placed in the anterior region of the mandible with flapless approach and rigid primary stability was acquired. After four weeks, ball and socket attachments were placed and the mandibular denture was adjusted. The patient was satisfied with the results of the present treatment.
