Abstract

Distribution of Asarum tamaense Makino and A. nipponicum F. Maekawa var. nipponicum and their vegetation environments were investigated in the Kasumi South-Hills, Hachioji City, Tokyo. Throughout the present and previous investigations, A. tamaense was found in three places of wild growth adding a new one: they grew on the north-slopes along the Yahagi basin, Yano-machi district in deciduous forests and a coniferous forest. Meanwhile, A. nipponicum var.. nipponicum was found in 17 places of wild growth in total and they were usually found near the ridges of the Hills. In the Kasumi South-Hills, it is found that the two kinds of plants occurred disjunctively each other without coexistence in same place of wild growth
