技術者倫理における地球的視野の問題  [in Japanese] The problem of global perspective in engineering ethics  [in Japanese]

この論文の目的は、技術者には、人口問題・南北問題と関わっていく責任があるということを指摘することである。具体的には次のような手順で議論が進められている。第一に、現在の技術者倫理における「地球的視野」の概念の分析が行われる。第二に、地球的視野、持続可能な社会、人口問題、南北問題の間の関係が示される。第三に、発展途上国における人口の爆発的増加と、先進国における豊かさの増大の間には密接な関係があると主張される。最後に、人口問題と南北問題の解決と持続可能な社会に向けての展望が提示され、それとの技術者の関わりが論じられる。

The purpose of this paper is to point out that engineers have responsibility to get concerned with the problem of population growth and the North-South problem from the viewpoint of sustainable society. First, the author analyzes the concept of `global perspective' in contemporary engineering ethics. Second, the author shows the relation between global perspective, sustainable society, the problem of population growth and the North-South problem. Third, the author argues that there is a very close correlation between the explosion of population in developing countries and the increase in wealth of developed countries. Finally, the author suggests an outlook for sustainable society and a possible solution to the problem of population growth and the North-South problem, and argues that engineers have to do with the outlook.
