2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate (TFEMA)-poly(TFEMA)/BPO-N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine (DMPT) adhesive resin was prepared to improve the durability against water of the resin bond to pure gold. The tensile bond strength to pure gold treated with 9,10-epithiodecyl methacrylate (EP8MA) was measured after 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 thermal cyclings. Although bond strength was decreased by the initial 1000 thermal cyclings, and then the stable adhesion to pure gold was demonstrated up to 4000 thermal cyclings. Thus, BPO-DMPT redox initiator was considered to be suitable for improving the long-term durability against water of the fluorinated adhesive resin.
