抄録

In order to establish a rational planning for the cathodic protection, the three-dimensional finite element method was applied to the analysis of potential distribution in electrolyte. Since Dirichlet's condition are not given in this potential problem, the balance of anticorrosion current between electrodes was introduced to the analysis instead of the above condition. The potential distribution can be determined by the numerical analysis without any iterative technique under the linear polarization characteristics of electrodes. Although practical polarization characteristics are nonlinear, the present method can be applied to practical problems by means of linearization of polarization characteristics in several ranges of potential. The potential distribution of galvanic cell with 3% NaCl solution saturated by oxgen was analysed by the above method and was measured to make a comparison with experimental results. The numerical solution of the potential distribution was in good agreement with measured values.
