抄録

JISC(Joint Information Systems Committee)は,高等教育における学術情報基盤として1993年に設立された機関である。しかし,英国の教育・職業訓練政策のもと,1999年にJISCの対象は,継続教育まで拡大されることとなる。本稿では,これをJISCの「学術情報基盤」から「知識情報基盤」への転換と捉え,その過程の分析を行う。また,2000年の『JISC再考(A Review of the Joint Information Systems Committee ; JISC)』及び,2005の『高等教育及び継続教育におけるJISCの有用性(The Value of the Joint Information Systems Committee to higher education and further education : Back-ground Paper)』を中心に,知識情報基盤としてのJISCの社会的意義について考察する。
