Abstract

The objectives of this study are to establish a simple method for quantifying the environmental thermal loads generated by construction and building as well as energy consuming systems, and to establish an environmental thermal load evaluation technique taking into account differences in thermal load diffusion caused by such things as thermal load generation time and discharge positions. In this paper, a three-dimensional urban thermal environmental evaluation model was used to carry out sensitivity analysis on the effects of differences in diffusion properties caused by the emission rate of environmental thermal loads, discharge height, discharge scale, discharge time, and discharge region on changes of ambient temperature near the ground surface. Basic data contributing to environmental thermal load evaluation were also prepared. Because the ambient temperature near the ground surface varies greatly depending on the environmental thermal load discharge method, it is essential that evaluation of the effects of environmental thermal loads associated with development takes these properties fully into account.
