Vortical structures and conditional statistics near the turbulent/non-turbulent interface of a turbulent mixing layer are studied using the data obtained by direct numerical simulation. We determine the conditional statistics by averaging data at fixed distances relative to the interface and put our emphasis on the possible Reynolds number (Re) dependence of the conditional statistics. Our analysis suggests that the conditionally-averaged spanwise vorticity has a sharp peak near the interface, and also that the width of the peak is approximately 10η irrespective of Re, where η is the Kolmogorov length scale.
