Abstract

幾何学的フラストレーションを持つ磁性体において,スピン系は系内の相互作用エネルギーより十分低温まで長距離秩序へ成長できず,スピン液体的な揺らぎを形成する.スピン分子はその代表例である.しかし我々は,中性子非弾性散乱により,フラストレーションが解消されたはずの磁気秩序相でも常磁性相のスピン分子の励起が残り,かつ,それと形状やエネルギーの異なるスピン分子励起が複数種ひそむことを発見した.この新たな結果からスピン分子の起源を探る.

Geometrically frustrated magnets exhibit a spin-liquid-like state until much below the temperature of magnetic energy in systems instead of magnetic long-range order. A spin molecule phenomenon is one of the representative states. In a magnetically ordered phase that is supposed to eliminate frustration, however, we recently discovered several modes of molecular spin excitation levels with different shapes and energies by inelastic neutron scattering. We discuss the roots of spin molecules from this new result.
