Abstract

The authors determined the chemical compositions of ground waters in the Higashi-Nomyo and Yumoto areas, which are well known to be a landslide area. The chemical compositions indicate the passages of ground waters. The result may be helpful to making a plan for the removal of ground waters to prevent the disaster from landslides. The chemical com- positions of the ground waters indicate that the chemical weathering is progressing under the ground of the areas to form clay materials through the interaction of carbon dioxidebearing waters with rock materials.
