抄録

It is reported that adhesion strength is improved by interface asperity of diamond-like carbon coating on steel, but observation behavior in interface is remarkably difficult. In this paper, the zooming method is adopted to finite element analysis to observe influence of interface asperity on adhesion strength in scratch test. Profile of interface asperity is cyclic wave-like geometry. Which has 50nm, and 1OOnm in wavelength. From the results, it is found that tensile stress of interface with the asperity is reduced as compared with flat interface. In addition, it is found that shear stress of interface with asperity has periodicity, therefore it is regarded that coating is anchored by interface asperity. For these reasons, it is considered that interface asperity improve adhesion strength.
