Abstract

This paper introduces the federated search system services of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Information Technology Center (AFFRIT) from 1984 to now. AFFRIT has developed a federated search system, called "Database Quick Search", by MetaLib, X-Server and Xerxes. Xerxes is an open source software that provides frontend functions. In the future, AFFRIT will develop and update this federated search system for expanding its search targets more widely and to get information that satisfy more users' needs by analyzing user behaviors with usage of databases and articles.
