Abstract

Nine compounds were isolated from an AcOEt extract of Ophiopogonis Tuber and showed a strong cytotoxic activity on HeLa-S_3 cell. Two of them were new compounds and their structures were established as 7, 8-dihydroxy-6-methyl-3-(2, 4-dimethoxy-benzyl) chroman-4-one and 5, 7-dihydroxy-6, 8-dimethyl-3-(4-hydroxy-3, 5-dimethoxy-benzyl) chroman-4-one by their ^1H-NMR, ^<13>C-NMR and HR-MS spectra. The original plant of the crude drug used in this experiment was identified as Ophiopogon chekiangensis by microscopic examination.
