Heat transfer coefficient and film cooling effectiveness in a rotating blade have been measured with a Low-Speed Research Turbine (LSRT) facility. The turbine model airfoils applied to LSRT were high loaded type suitable for next generation gas turbines. The measurements of film cooling effectiveness have been conducted with pressure sensitive paint (PSP) technique. PSP is comparatively new approach based on a mass-heat transfer analogy. The detailed film cooling effectiveness can be obtained. In addition, this paper deals with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to predict the heat transfer coefficient around turbine airfoils. The comparison between experimental data and the analytical results is reported. The useful information to attain high reliability cooling design has been obtained.
