Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explain the plan of Japanese land according to bank system from Taisho Era to Early Showa Era. I investigated how Key mans' personal history, who decided financial policy and local bank managers' one had an influence on the plan of Japanese land according to bank system. The results were following. Key mans who decided financial policy had experience in banking on Europe and America. So, they planed bank system based on England model that was mega capital and many branches bank. But, local bank managers had not experience in banking on Europe and America. Instead they managed bank based on traditional business practice, for example connection, personal reputation and educational background. This way was termed Modern Japanese model. The difference of their experiences made the plan of Japanese land according to bank system compromise between England model and Modern Japanese model.
