Abstract
To realize a society based on clean hydrogen energy, energy supply to individual houses in a cold region by using a solar cell module with a plant-shoot arrangement (set of leaves, a stem and a branch of leaves). An energy system consisting of photovoltaics, water electrolyzers, fuel cells, and a heat pump is introduced in a representative green-energy-house. Furthermore, this energy system is not accompanied by any external energy supply. In this paper, the results of optimized calculation of equipment size obtained by using a genetic algorithm (GA) are presented. From the results, the size of the solar cell and capacity are for different types of plates and shoots. Moreover, the optimal capacities of the solar cell, fuel cells, water electrolyzers, and heat pumps while operating in the green-energy house are presented. When introducing the proposed system in Sapporo city Japan, a 250 m^2 solar cell module, an 8.1 kW fuel cell, 23 kW water electrolyzer, a l5 kW heat pump and 51 kWh hydrogen storage were found to be required using a solar cell module with a plant-shoot arrangement, the area of solar cell is reducible by 23% compared to a sloping solar cell module.
