抄録

A patho-histological study of pulmonary lesions of experimental paragonimiasis was perforrned on infected Wistar rats with Paragonimus westermani in India. Mainly we examined the histology of in-flammation and repair of lungs in the infected model rats. In 18 days after infection,the adhesive pleuri-tis and pulmonary emphysema were recognized. Injured tissues were immediately followed by an acute local reaction characterized by the vascular changes,including the outpouring of plasma fluids and pro-teins,and soon thereafter by the massing of eosinophils and mast cells. In 35 days after infection,the one adult worrn or pairs and eggs in the cyst was surrounded with glanulation tissues,the lung parenchyma was heavily infiltrated with many mast cells machrophages and eosinophils. The hemorrhages were recognized in the alveolus or the lung parenchyma largely. 45 days after infection,the epitherial cells of cyst metaplased to the stratified flattened epithlium and so soon keratinized. These were inflamrnatory responses and the process of repair to injury with the infection of Paragonimus westermani. Many alveolar macrophages were activated,and phagocyted the erythrocytes.
