抄録

As a method of reforestation which aims at decreasing the cost of reforestation, ensuring the income of cash and saving labours, the slash-burning have been carrying out since 1984 in cut over Pinus-Quercus forests in Nita-Cho, Shimane Prefecture. To sustain productivity in forests, nutrient dynamics should be studied,and it is very necessary to clarify the effects of slash and burn of field on forest soils compared with the general reforestation. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the changes of soil temperature during the burning, and the ashing extent of organic matter accumulated on the forest floor after burning.
